Sequentum Launches Checkout Agent with Skyfire Integration for Secure, Compliant Agentic Commerce

By Elizabeth Abrams, Fractional CMO

New York, NY — April 28, 2026 —Sequentum, the trusted leader in enterprise-grade web automation, today announced the launch of the Sequentum Checkout Agent—the first checkout agent built for production at enterprise scale. Integrated with Skyfire’s tokenized identity and payments network, the solution enables autonomous AI agents to transact on the open web with full governance, compliance, and accountability. Built and operated in a SOC 2 Type 2 environment, it gives enterprises the confidence to let AI agents take real financial actions.

The Problem: Most Checkout Agents Don’t Actually Work

AI agents that can browse, decide, and buy represent a trillion-dollar opportunity. But most checkout agents fail in practice: blocked by anti-fraud systems, brittle under complexity, and built on visual inspection or pixel-matching that can’t truly interact with a page. The result is prototypes masquerading as products.

Sequentum is different. With 18 years of battle-tested browser automation, Sequentum’s agents interact with websites the way humans do—bypassing aggressive anti-bot and CAPTCHA systems with sophisticated browser fingerprinting and a visual-first navigation engine. The result: checkout agents that work consistently, at scale, and with trust across the world’s most complex retail environments.

Built on 18 Years of Earned Trust

For enterprises to let AI agents take real financial actions, the execution layer itself must be trustworthy—not just the payment layer. That foundation is what Sequentum brings.

Sequentum’s platform was built from the ground up for mission-critical, high-stakes environments. Its SOC 2 Type 2 attestation—earned through years of rigorous third-party audit, not a shortcut certification—means every agent action runs inside a security and compliance framework that financial institutions, global enterprises, and government agencies already depend on. Every transaction is logged with a complete, defensible audit trail, with integrated federated identities via Okta, Google, and Microsoft. Identity, payment authority, and spending limits are enforced by design, without exposing credentials or relying on fragile scripts. Merchants stay in control, buyers stay protected, and agents operate within clearly defined trust boundaries.

This launch marks Sequentum’s expansion beyond its foundational technology (web automation, data extraction and data pipeline infrastructure) into a critical infrastructure layer for agentic commerce. And it extends Sequentum’s long-standing promise of “Trust in Data” into the next evolution of commerce: Trust in Agents.

Skyfire Adds the Payment Identity Layer

Completing the trust stack for agentic commerce requires one more element: verified payment identity. That’s what Skyfire provides.

Through the Skyfire integration, each Sequentum agent generates a cryptographically signed KYA (Know Your Agent) token carrying a verified identity for the enterprise platform, agent identifiers, and the verified end-user identity—scoped to a specific seller, amount, and time window, and delivered via a custom HTTP header on every request. No corporate credentials are exposed or stored. Merchants receive full visibility into which enterprise is transacting, who authorized the agent, and how long that authorization is valid.

Together, Sequentum and Skyfire close the two gaps that have kept enterprise risk teams saying no to agentic commerce: credential exposure and accountability. Every transaction is non-repudiably tied to the enterprise and user that authorized it—a complete procurement event, with a verified buyer, in a governed execution environment. With every step of the Sequentum Checkout Agent documented, third party fraud management tools can detect fraud signals at every step. For CFOs and risk teams, this means end-to-end audit trails, per-agent spending caps, restricted merchant categories, and human-in-the-loop approval workflows for high-value transactions—all within a fully auditable SOC 2 Type 2 environment.

"Most companies chasing agentic commerce are building governance from scratch. We've been doing this for 18 years. The trust infrastructure that makes this possible—the SOC 2 attestation, the audit trails, the deterministic precision and the strength of our platform—weren’t built for this moment. We already had it," said Sarah McKenna, CEO of Sequentum.

“The question every enterprise builder is asking right now is not ‘which standard will win.’ It’s ‘what can I ship this quarter that my risk team will approve?’ Sequentum plus Skyfire is the answer to that question,” said Craig DeWitt, Co-Founder of Skyfire.

Enterprise Use Cases

The Sequentum Checkout Agent enables a new class of production-ready applications, including autonomous purchasing of licensed datasets and paywalled intelligence, AI navigation of government portals to pay regulatory and filing fees, and automated digital procurement (reordering subscriptions or API credits based on real-time usage). Every action is precisely controlled, observed, and audited.

Market Traction

After months of collaboration and successful transactions completed, the integration is already attracting interest from major global brands seeking to safely extend commerce capabilities to AI agents.
